Maag Recycling was founded in 1942 as a sole proprietorship based in Winterthur Dättnau. Today it employs around 65 people and is run as a family business in the fourth generation. The pursuit of constancy, sustainability and progress characterizes the Maag success story.

In the 1970s, the company moved to Werkstrasse and, together with the city, designed and managed a comprehensive network of glass collection points in Winterthur as one of the first recycling companies in Switzerland. Many renovations and innovations as well as the expansion of the office space in 2013 give the company a new face again and again. Horse and carriage disappear from the scene. A modern vehicle fleet takes its place and new technical operating facilities shape the picture.

From the treatment of industrial waste in the beginning, the focus shifts in the course of time in the direction of municipal waste. With the opening of the Recy-Hof for private customers in 2004, Maag hits the pulse of the times. On peak days, around 2500 Winterthur residents contribute to the sustainable use of raw materials.
