Loeb-Lorman Metals, Inc. is one of the Midwest's major scrap metal processing companies with locations in Wisconsin and Indiana.

The oldest site, Fort Atkinson (WI), was founded by the Lorman family in 1914; the Watertown (WI) location, formerly known as Loeb Metal Recycling, was founded in 1921 by the Loeb family. The Loeb family purchased the Fort Atkinson facility in 1988; and in 2007 opened an additional facility in Reedsburg (WI), followed by yet another facility in Argo (IN) in 2008.

Loeb-Lorman Metals, Inc. purchases scrap metals from industries, peddlers and individuals. The metals are prepared for use as melt stock for foundries and mills. Loeb-Lorman Metals, Inc. is not a junk dealer or auto dismantler, but a processor.

Many changes have occurred in the company’s 90+ years of history. Originally scrap metals were collected by horse and wagon and brought to the plant. Now a fleet of modern trucks haul containers to and from scrap producing industries. Additionally peddlers and individuals still bring their scrap metals to the yards. Scrap metals are weighed on certified scales. Loeb-Lorman Metals, Inc. prides itself on its cooperation with law enforcement agencies.

Metals are sorted by their chemistries. Punchings may be washed and dried before sale. The scrap metal purchased is enhanced to make it suitable for foundry melt stock. Prepared metals are shipped either by rail or truck.

ISO 9001 registration was a significant achievement in 2004; it recognized the high quality of our product. Loeb-Lorman Metals, Inc. is also concerned about the environment. It is a member of the voluntary Wisconsin Cooperative Environmental Compliance program and achieved environmental certification ISO I4001 and safety certification OHSAS 18001 in 2006. All requirements have been met to maintain certifications.
