Liquid Waste Technology, LLC® (LWT) formerly known as Moulton Irrigation Company, was founded in the 1960’s to provide innovative irrigation solutions to the agriculture marketplace. During this time the company began engineering and developing sludge removal systems. As a result, in 1984 the organization began exclusively designing and manufacturing customized environmental solutions for the dredging industry.

Due to LWT’s rising success and recognition as a leading supplier of custom dredging solutions, Ellicott Dredges acquired the company in 1998. In July 2003, a new company was established as Liquid Waste Technology, LLC. LWT is now a division of Ellicott Dredge Technologies. While operating independently, this new arrangement has permitted the exchange of engineering and technology while sharing markets and worldwide sales representatives.

LWT is known for the design and manufacturing of the Pit Hog electric (PHE) line of dredging products in addition to our other auger style dredging equipment. Sludge and Biosolids removal has been and will remain one of our primary focuses at LWT. To preserve our fundamental capabilities and provide brand consistency the PHE product line has been repositioned beneath the Mud Cat™ product trademark. PHE dredging equipment is now referred to as the Mud Cat™ MC20E, MC40E including our newly designed MC50E. Although the classification has changed our distinctive characteristics, performance and reliability remain the same certifying standard regarding our quality.

LWT’s globally recognized Mud Cat™ Diesel powered dredging systems have also experienced enhancements and improvements providing increased efficiencies and improved production capabilities.

LWT’s philosophy of continuous product improvement and innovation does not stop here; the Mud Cat™ product line advances its expansion with the introduction of two new product offerings. They include the Multifunction Dredge (MFD-1000) and Traxx Amphibious Self-Propelled dredging systems.

The MFD-1000 represents the industry’s most robust multifunction style dredging system. The MFD-1000 deploys a true construction grade excavating arm with an array of accessories. These attachments include a 1.0 cubic yard bucket, suction cutter pump, articulating clamshell bucket, heavy duty pole setter, 60” seven tine rake, pole driver/compactor and poll planting bucket. The MFD-1000 leads the industry in productivity and total output.

The Traxx amphibious dredge is a one truck transportable self propelled tracked system with self-unloading capabilities. This makes it ideal for operating in areas that are inaccessible by crane deployed dredges. The unit comes standard with a suction cutter pump and 0.5 cubic yard bucket. Other accessories are available.

LWT continues to lead the industry with creative and cost saving solutions from our automated dredge capabilities to a line of remotely operated submersible track driven dredges. These are simply known as ROV’s. The ROV dredging system is designed for removing solids, sediments and sludge from hard to reach areas such as drainage pipelines, tanks and covered lagoons. The ROV is constructed with corrosive resistant components for reliable long-term use which is available in various configurations and pumping capacities.

LWT is also the home of United Marine International (UMI) designers of trash skimmers and workboat systems.
