For over 35 years Linn Products has been bringing a fresh approach and innovation to the aluminum fabrication industry. Landing his first customer by assisting them in the re-design of their product, Randy Linn began Linn Products with the simple mission of providing well engineered parts in the most efficient manner.
Officially beginning Linn Products in 1980 as an aluminum fabricator, he began building complete fabrication fixtures and dies with a handful of employees. In 1986, he purchased and renovated his first extrusion press in an effort to control part quality and delivery. Having out-grown our facility, in 1999, we relocated to a new 150,000 square foot facility, and added our second extrusion press. In 2001, we added a state-of-art anodize handling system for providing finished parts, and completing our goal of becoming a vertically integrated highly engineered aluminum extruded parts supplier. In 2013 we expanded operations into a adjacent facility spreading our total operations to over 210,000 square feet.As a full service aluminum extruder, fabricator and anodizer, Linn Products continues to offer a streamlined approach to delivering the highest quality product at the best value in the shortest amount of time. Building custom tooling and machinery of our own design to efficiently produce customer product is our speciality, and the very foundation of which the business was built. It is what makes us unique and what adds value for our customers year after year.
Our Facilities
Located in Charlotte, Michigan, our two adjacent facilities house our entire operations including extrusion, fabrication, anodize, and assembly operations as well as our engineering and administrative offices. Having everything on one campus provides a communication advantage, cross utilization of resources, and personable customer service that runs throughout every department.
Aluminum Extrusions
Extruding aluminum is the most innovative forming process for metal, allowing designers unlimited creativity and imagination to specify profiles to meet exact, specialized needs. After working with our engineering team on design features, the process begins with creation of metal dies which precisely match the profile of the shape specified by the customer. We order a minimum of two extrusion dies to insure continual part availability. Aluminum billets are heated and forced under great pressure through the extrusion die. The variety of shapes is virtually endless, and profiles are produced to exact specifications, with very close tolerances. Once the profile is extruded, it can be further processed in our Fabrication Department. Our facility houses two extrusion presses with the capability of cross utilization of 7 inch profiles of multiple alloys including 6063, 3003, 6005 & 6463. To ensure complete traceability, our aluminum billet is purchased with a certified detail of composition and lot information. Our automated handling equipment assists with consistent and repeatable quality.
Fabrication
The ease of cutting, forming and machining aluminum extrusions is an important advantage in fabricating complex designs. Building custom tooling and machinery of our own design, our Fabrication Department offers value-added fabrication with a diverse array of fabrication machinery. The introduction of robotic equipment, CNC machining, Program Logic Controllers (PLC) and cellular manufacturing provides cost effective production methods as well as ergonomic solutions for our employees.
