In 2014, the Lime brand celebrated the first decade of its history. The brand, now well known to Russian hygiene professionals, was born in the mid-2000s - a period when the commercial real estate market in Russia began to change qualitatively, which spurred the demand for non-household hygiene products. The first to enter the Russian market were world and European leaders, who actually formed standards in the field of maintaining cleanliness in public places and industrial premises. By supplying products of the highest quality, Western companies were forced to put up with the fact that a significant part of Russian consumers could not become their customers due to budgetary constraints.
The growth of interest in the new brand was so obvious that the company's management decided not to limit itself to imports and organize its own production, focused on modern production standards. The first purchased machines did not have high productivity and only allowed the production of single-layer towels and toilet paper, which, however, did not become an obstacle to expanding the range and geography of sales. Moving step by step, the company grew and by 2009 its machine tool park was 15 machines, and the number of working personnel exceeded 100 people.
In November 2009, the company was the victim of a large fire at a facility where warehouse and production facilities were rented. As it turned out later, the cause of the fire was faulty wiring in the premises of one of the tenants, and its scale turned out to be such that for several days it attracted the attention of all city media. By a lucky coincidence, although the fire seriously damaged the equipment and raw materials, it almost did not affect the finished product warehouse, which made it possible to resume deliveries to customers in a week, and after a month and a half to return to production, deploying production in new areas in a modern production and warehouse complex. in the village of Pargolovo.
Starting from 2010, the company abandons the extensive development path and begins to acquire modern automatic lines for the production of all main types of products through leasing. At the same time, a decision was made to separate the production complex into a separate business unit within the framework of the emerging group of companies. The assortment is expanded with double-layer towels and toilet paper, multi-layer tissues (also with high quality printing), wiping materials and Matic system roll towels. The idea to offer the market an alternative solution that would combine European quality with an affordable price originated in 2003 from the company "Torus" from St. Petersburg - one of the largest players in the market of professional hygiene products. Having relied on the import of high-quality but relatively inexpensive products of Italian, Polish and Dutch manufacturers, known mainly in local markets, Torus was not mistaken in its forecasts - the sales of the first consignments, which began in 2004, showed the correctness of the chosen strategy, and the first official presentation of the new brand at CleanExpo - 2005 was a real triumph.
