Company History
Competence Since 1961
The Heinz Lewandowski company was founded in 1961 in Ochsenfurt. At that time, our business area consisted exclusively of scrap and metal trading, as well as car towing and car recycling.
In 1966 , a second company site was acquired in Eibelstadt, and since the establishment of a branch in 1967 , scrap and metal trading was carried out in both Ochsenfurt and Eibelstadt.
The company bought the first containers, which were mainly used for the transport of scrap and metals, in 1971 .
From 1973 onwards, other types of waste such as rubbish or paper were also transported or containers were placed at companies and private individuals for the disposal of various types of waste.
Around 1987 we stopped the towing service and car recycling - Heinz Lewandowski now mainly concentrated on the scrap and metal trade as well as the container service.
The company premises in Eibelstadt were gradually expanded, and in 1992 the office , which had previously been located in Ochsenfurt, also moved to Eibelstadt.
At the beginning of 1999 , a cable recovery system was purchased as a further branch of the economy. With this system, cable waste in any shape and thickness is shredded, granulated and processed into separate PVC granules and pure copper granules. These granulates are then sold on to international trading companies.
The previous owner of the business, Heinz Lewandowski, died in March 2000 .
The company was initially transferred to the heiress Lieselotte Lewandowski as a sole proprietorship, who finally handed over the entire company to the current owner , Bruno Lewandowski, on October 1st, 2001 . In this train the company Heinz Lewandowski was renamed Lewandowski Metallhandel & Containerdienst.
In September 2007 the name was changed again. The Lewandowski Group was created with three individual companies: the sole proprietorship Lewandowski eK, Lewandowski GmbH (metal trading, container service, cable recycling, industrial demolition and scrap car acceptance) and Yachthafen Lewandowski eK .
In 2015 the group was further restructured. Lewandowski GmbH & Co. KG, owned company and Bruno Lewandowski Geschäftsführungs GmbH emerged from the sole proprietorship Lewandowski eK. At Lewandowski GmbH, Bruno Lewandowski retired from management and the company and his wife Kathrin Lewandowski, who has been with the company for 19 years, and Felix Neubauer, who joined the company at the beginning of 2015, jointly took over management in September 2015. The marina remained unchanged.
Felix Neubauer has been the sole managing director since 2017
In spring 2018 , Bruno Lewandowski sold all of his company shares in Lewandowski GmbH to Felix Neubauer, the previous managing director. After 3 years of successful management, a lot of commitment and great loyalty, Felix Neubauer is continuing the company philosophy and the family tradition as the new owner in the usual way. Kathrin and Bruno Lewandowski are and will remain closely associated with the company.
