LED Source was founded in 2005 by partners Marcel Fairbairn and Gavin Cooper, but that really wasn’t the beginning of the story.

Marcel Fairbairn was a 20 year veteran of the Entertainment Lighting industry where he held executive roles with 3 prominent manufacturers. In 2002, Marcel founded another successful ‘Source’ company, GearSource, which is the top destination for buyers and sellers of production inventory including sound, lighting, video and staging gear.

Also in 2002, Marcel founded AVR USA in partnership with UK manufacturer, AVR Lighting who were an early producer of LED lighting products. Through AVR, Marcel met Gavin Cooper and the future was shaped.
