LCI Lavorazione Carta Riciclata Italiana srl ​​was born from the need of two companies, Rowe GmbH and UPM - Kymmene Oyj, to acquire waste paper from Italy.

Rowe Gesellschaft fuer Rohstoffhandel Wertstoffrecycling Entsorgung GmbH is one of the largest German companies in the field of waste paper recycling and municipal paper collection, with headquarters in Nuremberg and two other locations in Munich and Dachau.

Upm - Kymmene Oyj is a Finnish multinational present all over the world with 64 production units (paper mills in the graphics sector) of which 53 in Europe, 4 in the USA, 3 in China and 1 in Australia, Malaysia and South Africa.

The main objectives of the LCI are to unite the purchasing power of the two companies in Italy, to combine all suppliers under a single unit and to try to help structures such as consortia, municipal companies and municipalities to enhance the value of separate waste collection.

LCI has also created a relief valve in Italy for excess waste paper, solving major problems related to collection and preventing the surplus material from ending up in landfills.

With a turnover of € 25,500,000 in just the second year of activity, LCI is a company in strong and constant expansion. In addition to the two parent companies, LCI also supplies important paper mills in Austria, France, Germany and Slovenia, and is gradually expanding its commercial network to Asia, expecting to reach India, Thailand and Vietnam in 2010, and China in 2011.
