Laurel Aggregates was established in 1996 by the Laurita family of Morgantown, WV. In 2001, Laurel opened the Lake Lynn Quarry located in southern Fayette County, PA. The Lake Lynn Quarry enabled Laurel Aggregates to supply DOT approved aggregates to both West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Laurel Aggregates was acquired by VantaCore Partners in 2012.
For the first 10 years of mining, the Lake Lynn Quarry was a surface-mining only facility. In March of 2011, Laurel began a deep mining operation in order to expand the quarries’ production capabilities. Since opening in 2000, the Lake Lynn Quarry has grown into a large operation which ranks in the top five percent in the country for outgoing stone tonnages according to the fall 2010 issue of the Exploration & Processing magazin
