The Laser Cutting Company is a woman-owned business and Michigan’s first all laser facility specializing in automotive, aircraft and mechanical components. We have provided rapid precision laser cutting of metal and non-ferrous materials for over three decades. From prototype through production, our fully equipped and certified engineering and quality control department will ensure that your product is made to exact specifications. In 1983, the founders of Laser Cutting Company understood that the introduction of computers and lasers would change the face of manufacturing. As Michigan’s first full-service laser manufacturing company, we not only have the benefit of years of experience, we have established the kind of reputation you can rely on. We provide our services to companies from all around the world, from heavy equipment, military, agriculture and automotive to medical, aerospace and energy. Our full-service staff of laser cutting experts looks forward to helping you start manufacturing at the speed of light!
Laser Cutting Capabilities
Stainless Steel
Laser Cutting Company offers laser cutting and forming services for stainless steel parts to the OEM and replacement part markets. With over 30 years of experience, we have proven our ability to manufacture custom parts that meet or exceed specifications. We serve a wide range of industries, including the automotive, aerospace, heavy equipment, military, agricultural, medical, and power generation industries. Stainless steel is a popular metal for laser cut products. It is easy to cut and does not experience work hardening or distortion during forming or laser cutting. Some stainless steel alloys are difficult to die cut, making laser cutting an ideal alternative. Stainless steel can be cut quickly and precisely, up to a thickness of 0.625". Stainless steel laser cut parts are generally dross-free, for a smooth finish.
Aluminum
Laser Cutting Company offers laser cutting and forming services for aluminum parts to the OEM and replacement part markets. We serve a wide range of industries, including the automotive, aerospace, heavy equipment, military, agricultural, medical, and power generation industries. Aluminum formed and laser-cut parts are strong, lightweight, and corrosion resistant. Due to the reflective nature of the metal, aluminum parts are generally cut with solid state lasers to minimize reflection of the laser beam off the metal. This decreases the effectiveness of the laser beam and increases cutting time. Thin parts are cut with either continuous or pulse laser beams to achieve high accuracy and a precise edge on the part. Thicker parts are cut using sublimation using fiber lasers or short pulse lasers. Both processes use mirror deflection systems to minimize reflection and maximize the efficiency of the laser beam
Spring Steels
Laser Cutting Company offers laser cutting and forming services for Spring Steel parts to the OEM and replacement part markets. We serve a wide range of industries, including the automotive, aerospace, heavy equipment, military, agricultural, medical, and power generation industries. Parts that are made of spring steel are able to return to their natural state after significant bending or twisting has occurred. Spring steel is a name given to a wide variety of steels with medium to high carbon content and a very high yield strength. Although many grades of steels can be hardened or tempered to suit spring applications, spring steels exhibit more desirable characteristics than others for spring applications.
Alloy Steels
Laser Cutting Company offers laser cutting and forming services for Alloy steels parts to the OEM and replacement part markets. We serve a wide range of industries, including the automotive, aerospace, heavy equipment, military, agricultural, medical, and power generation industries. Alloy steel is a steel that is “alloyed” (a mixture of metals or a mixture of a metal and another element) with a variety of other element to improve its mechanical properties. Although every steel is an alloy, steels that are coined as “Alloy Steels” are infused with materials such as manganese, nickel, and chromium to make up 1%-50% by weight of the finished product. These alloyants improve the strength, hardness, toughness, wear resistance, corrosion resistance and hardenability properties of the base steels.
