History :
Lakeshore Die Cast was founded in 1959 by Oscar Zilke to produce Zinc die castings for Pemco Die Casting Corporation in Bridgman. Between 1959 and 1979 Lakeshore expanded to produce Aluminum die castings in addition to Zinc. Upon his death in 1979, Oscar Zilke transitioned control of Lakeshore Die Cast to the Schaller family. Under the guidance of the Schaller family, Lakeshore Die Cast expanded its production capacity in 1986 by adding a 65' x 105' building with four additional die cast machines. In 1993 another 90' x 95' addition was built to encompass 5 larger die cast machines. In 1999 another smaller 30' x 105' building was added for shipping and warehousing. Last year we added another 80' x 100' building for additional warehousing of finished goods. Lakeshore Die Cast continues to make aluminum and zinc die castings for the automotive, medical, construction, aerospace, and military industries. Recently we have begun collaborating with local tool shops for prototype and short run die cast work.
