Laabs GmbH is an internationally operating medium-sized company with customers throughout Europe and Asia. Our core competence is the recycling of windows, shutters, panels and other articles made of hard and soft PVC. Our quality standard is pure type goods - and this also applies to regrinds.

History

The company was founded in 1913 in Gollnow near Stettin in Pomerania under the name 'Wilago' by Mr. Willi Laabs (1888 to 1945). 'Wilago' made desks and men's and dining rooms. Within 25 years, the skilled carpenter managed to develop the company into the third largest series furniture manufacturer in Germany. 'Wilago' employed more than 1,000 people. The end of the war in 1945 destroyed the life's work of Willi Laabs, who died in the summer of 1945.

His wife, Paula Laabs, was expelled from home with seven young children in 1946. After an odyssey, they found a new home in Holzminden.

The Laabs company was rebuilt there in 1954 - and again developed into a sought-after and successful furniture company. A major crisis in the industry led Laabs GmbH into a completely new business area. Since 1995, Laabs GmbH has been one of the most successful companies in plastics recycling. 

The family company can look back on almost 100 years of corporate culture. Success and quality have their roots in humanity and the courage of their company founder Willi Laabs and his sons continue this tradition.
