Future-oriented right from the start.
Everything started out small. It was no different with us either. When Fritz Lötscher senior began mining gravel in 1924, he probably had no idea that 90 years later his company would be one of the leading construction companies in Central Switzerland. Here are some milestones from the LötscherPlus history.
1924
Fritz Lötscher senior starts mining gravel on the Gasshof property. In rigorous physical labor, the workers smash large stones with heavy hammers. Shovel after shovel is thrown over the sieves to remove sand. Horse-drawn vehicles serve as a means of transport. Only a few trucks with diesel or gasoline engines drive on the dusty gravel roads. To this end, Fritz Lötscher senior runs a truck stop consisting of a vehicle and two horses.
1926/27
The first trolleys on rails make transport work easier within the gravel pit. Fritz Lötscher senior supplements his inventory with such cars. Excavation and civil engineering work are already being carried out with the existing equipment.
1929/30
Because of the cold winter it cannot be broken down, the outer layer is frozen. Resourceful minds have the idea of driving tunnels into the walls in order to quasi dismantle "underground".
1932
Fritz Lötscher senior buys the first petrol-powered truck from the Ford brand.
1938-1943
The business situation is critical during the war years. Nevertheless, Fritz Lötscher senior bought the Rengg property. Gravel deposits are discovered in the ground. From 1943 on, this is another pit that is being successfully mined.

The first tire loaders and Traxes are purchased. As a result, more and more large civil engineering works are being carried out.
