Kreiswerke Delitzsch GmbH is a 100% municipal company in the northern Saxony district.
The main task since 1991 has been the municipal waste disposal in the former district of Delitzsch, which today is part of the district of North Saxony. In addition to the collection of residual waste, bulky waste and waste paper, one of the main tasks was initially in the operation of the district's landfills.
After the waste management in Germany was realigned in 2005 due to fundamental legal changes, Kreiswerke Delitzsch GmbH continued to align itself with the requirements of a modern recycling management. In addition to public law tasks, another focus is on fuel production in the Delitzsch Süd-West and Bernburg plants.
A composting facility, a facility for sorting bulky waste and commercial mixed waste as well as for processing waste wood and two facilities for processing mineral waste are still in operation.
Around 140 employees and 12 trainees are currently employed at Kreiswerke Delitzsch GmbH.
The sister company, Anlagenbau Umweltprojekt GmbH, which mainly takes on tasks in transport and container service, employs a further 52 people.
