Kompogas Bioriko AG has been the specialist in generating ecological energy for 10 years. We recycle around 20,000 tons of green waste annually and use it to produce up to 4.5 million kilowatt hours of natural electricity - roughly the same amount of energy as there is in 1.5 million liters of gasoline or consumed by 1,100 households. Our team is thus making an important and sustainable contribution to achieving the Energy Strategy 2050.

Kompogas Bioriko AG does not only take care of the climate-neutral and economically sensible utilization of biomass. We are also the ideal partner for municipalities, gardeners, horticultural companies, industry and private individuals. Together with you, we develop concepts for the collection and disposal of green waste and generate electricity as well as liquid and solid fertilizers. 

Story

Founded in May 2008, Kompogas Bioriko AG is an important subsidiary of the Swiss pioneer in waste separation, Häfeli-Brügger AG. The family business has been composting organic waste and processing it into potting soil and soil for over 30 years.

Kompogas Bioriko AG has been disposing and recycling of biogenic waste via a Kompogas plant in Klingnau for a decade. The company began in 1993 with the opening of what was then the most modern composting plant with a closed composting hall and bio filter by Häfeli-Brügger AG. Previously, the provider of transport, logistics, recycling and storage of waste materials had produced valuable bark compost with the subsidiary Bioriko AG.

15 years later, the next ecologically consistent step followed: the construction of the Klingnau fermentation plant. Together with Axpo Kompogas AG, the global technology leader in solids fermentation, Häfeli-Brügger AG implemented the plant and founded Kompogas Bioriko AG. This partnership between two pioneers in waste recycling secures and further develops the disposal service in the ecological area. Häfeli-Brügger AG is consequently following its corporate philosophy of recycling with biomass as well.
