Koch Kiessand GmbH has been a family business since 1994 and focuses on the mining, processing and recycling of high-quality building materials. Our company from 1965 until today

With the founding meeting of the "Vorwärts Nöbdenitz" melioration community up to the present day gravel sand mine at the Schmölln / Sommeritz location, our company can refer to 55 years of company history and experience.

1965

Founding meeting of the Meiorationsgemeinschaft "Vorwärts Nöbdenitz " in the restaurant "Schwarzer Bär" Schmölln on July 2nd, 1965. On that day, Hermann Koch was proposed and confirmed as head of the production department to be trained.

First of all, our melioration cooperative received start-up capital of 2 Marks / ha from the participating LPGs. This brought together around 20,000 marks. These were used for tools and a trench plow.

Our amelioration community always received its money on time from the LPG, so more machines and equipment could be bought and the permanent workforce grew.

1969

In September 1969 we moved into our depot in Nöbdenitz.

First of all, we had to remove a lot of rubbish and albumen there before we could build something new.

1970

In 1970 we started building a workshop with a forge and a storage room for spare parts.

A large covered parking hall, garages for trucks and its own gas station followed later.

1974/75

In connection with the construction of a 2000 dairy cattle facility, the first gravel pit was opened in 1974 on Crimmitschauer Strasse in Schmölln.

1977/78

At the end of the 1970s we built small storage basins to store water for irrigation of agricultural areas.

1980

In the 80s we concentrated on building roads. This was the prerequisite for the later road construction.

1985/86

After the old administration building was destroyed by a hurricane storm in 1984, we were able to build and move into a new administration building in 1985/86.

1989/90

According to the social changes in our country in 1989/90, the time of the MG "Vorwärts Nöbdenitz" came to an end. The last major construction work was the desludging of the village pond in Nöbdenitz and the construction of roads for the LPG Dobitschen.

1990

After the reunification in 1990, new tasks and perspectives arose for us. We received great help and support from the companies and families G. Leitenmaier, K. Miller and F. Maier from Ziemetshausen in the Kries Günzburg (Bavaria) with the company changeover as well as learning the many new things.

1991

Even after 1990, our operations made very good progress. The operation of the melioration cooperative was converted into a road and underground construction GmbH in 1991 .

1993

From January 1st a big dream came true for us. With the generous help and support of Raiffeisenbank Schmölln, our families H. Koch and R. Koch were able to purchase the operation of the former melioration cooperative and road and underground construction GmbH from the remaining shareholders of the agricultural cooperative Dobitschen, Nöbdenitz and Thonhausen.

The company Koch Straßenbau GmbH was created .

From 1994

In the 1990s, our company mainly focused on road construction, as evidenced by some newspaper clippings.

In addition to road construction, open-cast gravel and sand mining was continued by Koch Kiessand GmbH in Crimmitschauer Strasse in Schmölln.

At the time, this open-cast mine was about professional backfilling and successful completion.

At the same time, our current gravel sand mine in Schmölln / Sommeritz was opened up.

2004

One of the greatest and best achievements of Koch Straßenbau GmbH in 2004 was the redesign of the market square in Schmölln and the location in Weißbach.

The Schmöllner Markt was particularly difficult, as there was constant business activity and ongoing market activity. The market square as well as the location in Weißbach could be completed ahead of schedule and in the best quality.

2008/09

The cooking gravel GmbH , which was founded in 1994 and with the busy mining, processing and recycling of high-quality building materials, was continued as sole financial part.

Since 2009 until today

In 2015 our company celebrated its 50th anniversary.
