About Company

WE TREAT DISPOSED CABLES, METALS AND TRAFOES

KMT Recycling has set itself the goal of solving a growing societal problem: an ever-increasing volume of discarded cables and old transformer systems. Our specific treatment methods of this type of waste provide maximum reuse of all the materials in the cables and better utilization of the production waste (plastic). We make sure to meet all requirements from licensing authorities in environmental matters - requirements to which those who supply materials to us are subject. Last but not least - we are always alert to opportunities for improvement in terms of methods and recycling rate. This is how we support environmental work both in Norway and internationally.

The plant at Linnestad has a permit for an annual treatment of 65,000 tonnes of EE waste and 20,000 tonnes of cable under EWC code 17.04.10, 25,000 tonnes of scrapped vehicles and 20,000 tonnes of steel and metals. We have completed a granulation plant and after 2.5 years of operation we are very proud to say that we have reached our goals in terms of material recycling of complex cables.

KMT Recycling treats and recycles discarded cables, metals and transformers with the aim of solving a major societal problem. With one of Europe's largest and most modern recycling plants outside Tønsberg and branches in Denmark, we are one of Scandinavia's leading players in the treatment and recycling of discarded transformer plants and electrical cables. Our specialization in cable and transformer recycling has given us valuable expertise that ensures environmentally friendly treatment of this type of materials.

Our investments in technology and equipment ensure a high degree of recycling of metals, as well as better utilization of production waste. The recycling must be able to meet all requirements and expectations from our stakeholders, the licensing authorities and our customers. KMT Recycling includes RENA collection and treatment plant for cable.

We currently have 65 employees and a turnover of approx. NOK 400 million in 2020 with a positive result. Solid finances give us the opportunity to invest in the latest in technology and equipment with the aim of ensuring the highest possible recycling rate.
