Windsor Barrel Works producers rugged, mutli-use, stylish indoor and outdoor recycling and trash containers and bins using post-consumer, recycled materials. They are Green, sustainable, and promote a closed-loop system.
Windsor Barrel Works was established in 1983, by Mr. Philip Haas, at a time when recycling was beginning to emerge as a significant, and in some cases, mandated, component of solid waste management.
Philip had always been interested in the environment and spent most of his summers during high school and college working at a hawk sanctuary as an education coordinator. While there, he wanted to educate visitors on all aspects of the environmentally sensitive area, especially keeping the grounds clean through recycling and trash collection.
While the focus of recycling was on household or "curbside" programs, people would need to be encouraged and reminded to recycle when visiting public spaces. He did maintenance on the trails and realized he could combine education and recycling by using the trash containers as tools.
He felt that if recycling and trash containers were more attractive, people would be encouraged to use them. Using post-consumable plastic and recycled aluminum, Mr. Haas created functional, stylish, and practical designs that are in use in communities throughout America and overseas.
Kettle Creek Corporation was founded in 1992 and encompasses Windsor Barrel Works. Kettle Creek Corporation is headquartered and manufactures in Pennsylvania.
