The debut of Scott’s Karat Patch marks a new chapter for owner Scott Simon, known for the established Karat Patch Jewelry brand with his father, Lewis “Buddy” Simon. Karat Patch closed unexpectedly due to Buddy’s age and unanticipated health issues facing Scott, but the younger Simon is excited for a fresh start. With a genesis as industry experts offering exceptional service, he will run his store in the same way; a local family business mainly based on customer relationships and an extensive line of fine jewelry at fair prices.  “More important to us than anything is an unparalleled level of service; helping our customers navigate a significant purchase and making sure they are satisfied,” says Simon. “Being part of the happy times in people’s lives is meaningful.”  During Karat Patch’s 32-year run including operations that moved from the former Charlotte Merchandise Mart (now The Park) to Providence Road in Myers Park, the Simon family developed a strong following of loyal customers ranging from jewelry connoisseurs to those who had never shopped for jewelry before. Simon plans to continue that tradition of customer service and unique collections with Scott’s Karat Patch.  “Our roots are in the Charlotte community and we’re thrilled to open our doors to see familiar faces as well as new ones,” Simon says.
