About Company

For over 60 years, Kapp Alloy & Wire, Inc has been a premier manufacturer of Babbitt, solder, and metallizing spray wire. Our goal is perfection in solder and service. Using our Hi-Pure™ solders and fluxes will save you time and money, and will result in a superior end product.

Our extensive application experience ensures that you get the right solder and flux for your process or repair. Please don’t hesitate to call, fax, or email a request to Kapp Alloy for custom or hard-to-find alloys. With over a century of combined experience, our staff is confident that we can find the perfect product to fit your needs.

At Kapp Alloy & Wire Inc. we use only the highest quality virgin metals and our proprietary Precision Microcasting™ process to create wire that is consistent from edge to edge and end to end - through thousands of pounds of wire. The end results are lower costs and substantially lower defect rates in your end products - saving you time, energy, and REAL MONEY.

Kapp Alloy & Wire was founded by Mr. Donald Black in 1945, to sell his first invention - ALUMITE - an extremely strong & easy to use solder for Aluminum and white metals. Alumite™ is still used today around the world for casted alloy repairs. Since its humble beginning in Don's garage, Kapp Alloy has focused on product quality and innovation. Throughout our history, our solder has been found in the latest technology. Kapp Alloy solder was part of every telephone Western Electric and AT&T made, and was part of every microwave made in the USA. Kapp solder even went to the moon and back in instrumentation aboard the US Apollo missions.

Now in our third generation of engineering leadership, Kapp Alloy & Wire specializes in high-purity solder, spray wire, and fluxes in the temperature range of 150°F to 800°F (65°C to 427°C). Kapp Alloy’s solders are produced in over 200 alloys and forms – from 500lb. payout paks of Tin-Zinc spray wire to handy 9in. Alumite rods and complete soldering kits.

At Kapp Alloy & Wire, we continue to improve our Precision Microcasting™ process and expand our expertise to remain technology leaders in solder manufacturing. Current customers include General Electric, Standard Motor Products, Vertical Seal, Surface Modification Systems and electronics manufacturers worldwide. New industries served include alternative energy manufacturers of both wind and solar components. If you have a new process or are in need of a hard-to-find or custom alloy, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We are always up for a challenge. We understand that our success is built on your success.
