K-B Tool & Die, Inc. was established in 1977 and is located in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Our facility has the tool and die equipment and the staff with the necessary experience to meet the most rigorous requirements in a wide range of industries, including OEM car and truck companies, industrial OEMs, electronics, medical, military/aerospace, and aftermarket heater and radiator components.
We’re parts manufacturing craftsmen and diemakers that feature a wide range of capabilities, including CNC machining, wire EDM, prototyping, tool and die build from automated processes to those that require the design and styling skills of a “parts artist”. We can transform any idea to a finished part with just-in-time (JIT) delivery to your plant. We have experience in an array of metals from light and heavy gauge steel, steel plate, and stainless steels to aluminum, brass/bronze, copper and titanium.
K-B Tool & Die applies to die making, both the science and the art learned through many years experience designing and building small to medium progressive and line dies. This expertise is directed at the whole metalworking industry. Our structure and concept has expanded from a simple “mom and pop” shop to a multi-faceted turn-key supplier for many industries. We pride ourselves on excellent customer service and building close-working relationships with our customer base in order to fulfill order requirements. We became ISO 9001:2008 Certified to ensure our customers that Continuous Quality Improvement is our #1 goal for achieving complete customer satisfaction. We have also acquired Government Approved Supplier Status with our Cage Code # 5FPT1.
K-B Tool & Die was founded by Alan G. Klinger in 1977. Alan is a U.S. Army Veteran that served with the 101st Airborne out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky from 1966-1968. Before entering the service he began his tool and die career in 1964 with Ultra Tool & Die in Warren, Michigan. In 1969 he entered into a wood patternmaker’s apprenticeship at General Motors. In 1972, General Motors closed their Fisher Body Plant No.21 where Alan worked. He then went back into the tool and die trade until he opened his own tool and die manufacturing company. Along with numerous drafting, math, and technical classes during his apprenticeship at General Motors, he was also able to complete a degree in Industrial Supervision and Management in May of 1977.
