Who Owns Junk Nerds?

Junk Nerds is privately-owned by Charlotte native Peter Reisfeld. He really is a nerd--and that's a good thing!!!! We asked Peter what made him get in this business and here is his response: "I've always had an appreciation for the outdoors and nature--mountains, rivers, oceans, forest--we are the guardians of these resources for our children. I've also always been semi-obsessed with building and repairing things from found objects. I love this business as I get to facilitate others turning trash into treasure and personally making the environment better day by day."

Peter is definitely not what you would expect for a guy who hangs around a dump and collects waste for a living. He founded and ran a sporting goods chain, built an internet business selling and distributing thousands of different items, been an executive with Coca-Cola, sold Porsche automobiles, delivered pizza, furniture and groceries, mowed lawns and wrote a book among many, many other things... He was educated at Cornell University with a degree in Economics and later earned an MBA also from Cornell University with a concentration in Marketing. Yeah---that is pretty nerdy. His interests are just too bizarre to mention---you have to meet this guy to understand. Married to an amazing lady--Michele--and blessed with four children, two cats, and a dog. His hobbies include fellowship, snowboarding, judo, travel, pop culture, and volunteering.
