History

Josef Reters & Söhne GmbH was founded in 1945 by Josef Reters Senior in Dortmund. At the beginning, trading was limited to fuels such as coal and briquettes. The first truck was purchased as early as the mid-1950s. And when the two sons Hans Albert Reters and Dieter Reters joined the company in the early 1960s, the company's area of ​​responsibility also changed. The coal trade was given up and the company specialized in the transport of building materials.

The first move from Dortmund to Schwerte-Villigst took place in 1965 and by the mid-1980s the company had six trucks and three employees. At the beginning of the 1990s, the idea of ​​a recycling plant for reusing building rubble, road rubble, concrete and soil was put into practice after several years of planning.

Since the previous company premises in Schwerte-Villigst did not offer enough space for this project, the company headquarters was relocated to a larger site in Schwerte in order to be able to put the recycling plant into operation. In the years that followed, this branch of business developed into another solid pillar for the company, so that at the end of the 90s, the former sole proprietorship Josef Reters became Josef Reters & Söhne GmbH.

Since then, the family business has grown steadily and has developed into a solid, medium-sized transport company. The company currently employs over 80 people and has 50 vehicles.
