J&G Steel Corporation was founded in 1982, primarily to sell fabricated steel components to the Gas Turbine industry. Its founders and senior management have a combined experience of over 250 years in the business. Since it's small beginnings over 30 years ago, J&G has enjoyed steady growth, and is now situated on over 15 acres of land and contains over 100,000 square feet of manufacturing space, including a state of the art blast bay and two climate controlled paint bays. To facilitate its competitive edge in the marketplace, J&G continually searches for the latest in equipment and technology, and recently has updated it's process capabilities by purchasing a CNC beam line capable of processing up to 48" beams, a 300 ton press brake and a CNC plasma burn table. With welding as its main value added process, J&G is set up to run MIG, TIG and Fluxcore operations at over 80 welding stations and adheres to a strict Quality Control plan, including initial welder testing per ASME Section IX & CSA W47.1, as well as rigorous in-process and final weld inspections. J&G prides itself on being an American manufacturing facility that goes above and beyond customer expectations, both during and after the sale.
Quality
J&G strives to uphold and exceed the high levels of quality that have been demanded of the Gas Turbine industry for the last 30 years. Through all stages of procurement, production and shipment, strict quality and documentation protocols are adhered to through the use of detailed Manufacturing Process and Inspection & Test plans, ensuring that all customer, statutory and regulatory requirements are met. To ensure the highest levels of quality, J&G has implemented and maintains a Quality Management system that has held ISO 9001 certification since 1994. A fully staffed Quality Control department utilizes the latest in inspection methods and tools to document and control the entire process from fit-up and weld to final packaging. QA and QC personnel maintain ASNT-TC-1A Level II certifications in Magnetic Particle, Dye Penetrant, Visual and Film Interpretation. J&G currently employs two AWS Certified Weld Inspectors and one CWB Certified Welding Supervisor. In 2014, J&G completed the steps as mandated by the Canadian Welding Bureau, and gained certification to the CSA W47.1 standard.
Structural Steel
Support structures comprised of welded columns, beams, angles and channels are utilized to support the inlet system as well as other power plant products. J&G utilizes the latest in 3-D modeling software to design, verify and validate all of these products in-house and can produce a structure that meets all local and international building codes. From procurement of raw materials, to fabrication to galvanizing, J&G maintains full control over the entire process to ensure that even the most stringent customer, statutory or regulatory requirements are met.
