The Jewelry Box of Lake Forest has been owned by Christine Anzell and Jack Levenson since 2001 although the store has been in its current location for over 25 years. How they and it came together is the story of paths destined to cross. Christine was born and raised in Beaumont, Texas, where she began her career with a national department store chain, progressing quickly from the credit office to managing the fine jewelry department to a regional management position directing operations for over 40 fine jewelry departments in Northern California and the Pacific Northwest. Enter Jack who held the same position with the same company in Southern California and Las Vegas. A former New Yorker who had owned a variety of jewelry stores over a 25-year period and had spent more than a decade in corporate retail, Jack aspired to show jewelers how to turn superlative customer service into financial success. He shared that ambition with Christine, who it turned out had nurtured similar thoughts. In 1996, Christine and Jack left their jobs with the national chain to become business partners, launching a sales training and consulting firm that specialized exclusively in fine jewelry retail in the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean. During their travels, they continually talked about owning their own store. In 2001, that dream came to fruition when they launched The Jewelry Box of Lake Forest.
