From Clutter to Comfort:
Jay’s Personal Touch
I've always believed in getting my hands dirty and being there for people, especially when they're going through tough times. For years, I helped friends and family clear out basements, garages, or just get rid of old furniture. Every time I took on a job, it wasn’t just about hauling junk; it was about helping people make a fresh start. I’d see the relief on their faces when they could finally let go of things weighing them down, and it felt good to be a part of that.
One day, it occurred to me: why not turn this into something more? I realized there was a real need in my community for someone who didn’t just show up to haul away stuff but truly cared about helping people in difficult situations—whether they were downsizing after a big move, cleaning out an estate after a loved one’s passing, or just trying to reclaim their space from years of clutter.
So, I started this clean out business with just my truck and a deep desire to make a difference. Right from the start, I made a promise to myself that I would personally be involved in every job. I didn't want to just send a crew to handle the work; I wanted to be the one customers could count on to show up, listen to their needs, and work hard alongside them to clear out what they no longer needed. For me, it’s always been more than just a business—it’s about providing people with relief during stressful times, offering a helping hand when they need it most.
As word spread, the jobs grew bigger, but my approach stayed the same. Whether it was a small garage cleanout or a full estate cleanup, I was there every step of the way communicating with customers, carefully handling their belongings, and treating every job with the respect it deserved. It became clear to me that people didn’t just want someone to throw things away. They wanted someone who understood the emotional weight behind it. I wanted to be that person who could provide not just physical help, but also a little bit of peace of mind.
That's also why I make every effort to reuse, recycle, repurpose, and donate as much as I can on every clean out. It's often comforting for people when they know not everything is destined for the landfill. Sometimes I even find ways to use the unwanted contents to offset some of the job costs such as dumpsters and disposal fees.
As the business has grown, I've brought on a small, trustworthy team, but I always remain hands-on. I still show up to every job, still work side by side with my crew, and still focus on making sure every customer feels supported and heard. Seeing the relief and gratitude on their faces when the job is done, that’s what keeps me going.
What started as a simple way to help people clear out their space has turned into a business that I’m proud of. Jay’s Clean Outs isn’t just about junk removal, it’s about offering a helping hand when life gets overwhelming. It’s about being there for people, making their lives easier, and giving them the fresh start they deserve. I’ve always believed in putting in the hard work, showing up when you say you will, and giving people more than they expect. That’s what Jay’s Clean Outs is all about, and that’s how I plan to keep it.
