In the early 1920’s 15 year old Simon Karagozian dropped out of school and became a charm maker in Manhattan’s famed diamond district. He used his skills to become a wholesale jewelry manufacturer through the 1940’s and 1950’s. In the late 1960’s he moved his family and opened his own storefront north of New York City in Cold Spring, NY. Simon’s original business card reads Simon Karagozian, Jeweler, Specializing in the Unusual.

As he taught his Son-in-law and grandsons his trade he stayed true to his motto. Today the workshop and showroom are only 2 miles from that original storefront, and the fourth generation are still creating beautiful handcrafted jewelry.  Katie and James are a Sister/ Brother dynamic duo and Simon’s great-grandchildren. Both are Graduate Gemologists and fourth generation jewelers. They took over the company from their father in 2011 with the goal of integrating technology into their 60 year old bespoke jewelry business. Flash forward to 2017 and what they have created is a bespoke process where the client has complete control of the design of their one of a kind piece of fine jewelry, without having to make multiple trips to the jewelry store.

The end result is not just a perfect piece of unique jewelry but the experience of designing it to your exact specifications, with the guidance of an experienced jewelry designer, mostly from the comfort of your own home.  With the popularity of their fine bespoke jewelry and their family’s brick and mortar store, Katie and James have expanded the business to include a made to order web collection of fine fashion jewelry which is designed and created using old-school craftsmanship in their Cold Spring, NY workshop.
