We are located in Northern California just outside of Sacramento. We ship parts worldwide, but we would be more than happy to have you stop by to check us out.
When a vehicle is first brought into the shop, all liquids are removed according to EPA regulations: the oil is drained and contained for recycling, the radiator fluid is drained and recycled, and a specialist is brought in to remove freon gas following EPA hazardous material regulations.
J&W is no mere salvage yard, or wrecking yard, we are a recycling center. Our facility pays attention to all the details to provide the most extensive inventory of quality used jeep parts. All differentials are carefully inspected and most are disassembled, cleaned, and if necessary, we have a facility and staff to rebuild and recondition units to good working order.
History :
J&W Garage was founded in 1945. The original owners were James Auld and "Wegge" Wigren, hence the name J&W. James purchased Wegge's portion of the business. For many years the business was known as J&W for "James and Wife." The business was located on Auburn Blvd. in Citrus Heights, California.
The Duncan family took possession of the business on January 16, 1981. We formed our own corporation, CAN-GRO, INC., and purchased J&W Auto Wreckers, Inc.
J & W Auto Wreckers has earned the distinction of being a Waste Reduction Awards Program (WRAP) winner for 2004. This is the seventh time J& W Auto Wreckers has won this award. The commendable efforts of the businesses include innovative reuse and recycling achievements, donating usable goods to non-profit organizations, conducting employee education programs, and buying recycled-content supplies for the workplace, to name a few.
The end result is a longer life span for California landfills and, in many cases operating cost savings for the business. For exemplary commitment to cutting wastes and conserving valuable resources, the California Integrated Waste Management Board is celebrating companies located throughout the state by designating 1,403 winners of the 11th Annual WRAP Award
The Waste Board is one of six boards, departments, and offices within the California Environmental Protection Agency. They are responsible for protecting the publics health and safety, and the environment, through management of the estimated 76 million tons of solid waste generated in California each year.
The California Integrated Waste Management Board is pleased to honor J & W Auto Wreckers for its contribution to California's waste reduction efforts.
