The company was born from the need to manage the waste cycle in the provincial area in compliance with the principle of self-sufficiency and the least possible handling of waste, as required by the Campania Region with Law no. 4/2007 and subsequent amendments and as defined by Decree Law 195/2009 converted into Law 26/2010.

This rule brought about the end of the state of emergency in the waste disposal sector in the Campania Region.

How is the company set up?

IrpiniAmbiente Spa is configured as a company wholly owned by the Provincial Administration.

Its constitution took place with resolution no. 2 of 23 December 2009 of the Delegated Commissioner - Councilor for the Environment of the Province of Avellino - former OPCM 3812/2009, with headquarters in Avellino at Piazza Libertà 1 and with a share capital of Euro 500,000.00.

It is emphasized that the constitution complies with the provisions of article 11 of Law Decree 195 of 30 December 2009 converted, with modification, into law no. 26 of February 26, 2010.

Therefore, it is the institutional task of Irpiniambiente:

organize the collection of solid urban waste produced in the consortium municipalities

arrange transportation

carry out final disposal

How are the services organized?

The organization of services takes into account the mandatory nature that the law confers on the recovery of certain categories of waste, in order to ensure, by means of separate collection, its reuse through recycling and reintegration on the market.

Based on the aforementioned assumptions, the company guarantees the homogeneity of services to all consortium member municipalities.

The company has developed an integrated operating system, based on the criteria of efficiency and economy, without ever neglecting the respect and protection of the environment.

This integrated system allows you to:

Separate collection, i.e. collection, transport and recovery of waste for its reuse

Collection, transport and disposal of waste as it is, which represents the residual portion of separate waste collection
