Iren Ambiente is the Iren Group company that coordinates and manages urban hygiene, the integrated waste cycle and the renewable energy sector in the Piedmont and Emilia regions . With a collection service that involves the City of Turin, the City of Vercelli, 26 municipalities in the Vercellese area and 119 municipalities in the Emilian area - in the provinces of Parma, Piacenza and Reggio Emilia - capable of serving a total of over 2 million of inhabitants , Iren Ambiente plays a primary role in the collection, treatment, energy recovery and disposal of urban and special waste. The company annually manages about 1,800,000 tons of waste - of which over 1,200,000 tons of municipal waste and about 600,000 tons of special waste - which are treated synergistically in the plants located within the company's reference regions.

Iren Ambiente also manages the urban hygiene service , which includes the cleaning of the streets, sidewalks and green areas of the city, as well as the clearing of snow in the winter season, in different ways in the various territories.

Through Iren Ambiente, the Iren Group manages the ordinary management, assessment and compulsory collection of the TARES and TARI waste tax under concession for the client municipalities .
