Since our beginnings in Tucson, Arizona in 1968, IOTA has worked continuously in the electronic  R & D field, designing and manufacturing innovative products for the lighting industry.   IOTA's initial focus was on the design and manufacture of low voltage solid state ballasts for fluorescent applications. The IOTA DC ballast design gained national recognition when it was selected in a national competition by NASA for use aboard SKYLAB. The system performed flawlessly through all missions.  Today, IOTA is a pioneer and leader in the lighting industry, designing and manufacturing state-of-the-art emergency lighting equipment for commercial, institutional, national and international applications. Additionally, IOTA's product line has expanded to include AC/DC power conversion and battery charging equipment used in vehicular, recreational, solar, industrial, and telecommunication markets.

IOTA's fluorescent products such as the slim design ISL Series, the 2000 lumen I-880, and I-232 Parallel Operation emergency battery packs introduced revolutionary solutions for modern fixture designs.Time Delay, Open Circuit Isolation and AC Output enhancements delivered products that met the demands of new ballast and lamp technologies.
