Founded in 1969 by David R. Eckert, Integral Structures came about as a result of Mr. Eckert’s observation that the Louisville area could use a construction company specializing in the design and erection of pre-engineered metal buildings. Having worked as a sales engineer for Armco Steel’s “metal products division” since 1961, Mr. Eckert was already familiar with the details of how to effectively design and construct such structures. Thus he easily transitioned from selling these structures to creating a business – Integral Structures – that could design and build such structures.

Integral Structures has since expanded into a full service general contractor with the ability to design and build everything from conventional brick structures to a wide range of hybrid structures.
