Industrial Metal Finishing began with humble beginnings. William Jacob Loeser, Bill as he was known to colleagues, friends, and family, joined the Navy in 1941. The Navy sent him to Georgia Tech where he earned an Aeronautical Engineering degree. He graduated in 1943 and was subsequently sent to the Pacific for World War II for maintenance repair on airplanes. After the war ended, Bill returned to Houston and begun working for an oil service company designing rigs and drilling wells. In 1950, using his knowledge and experience, Bill started Industrial Metal Finishing in what is now known as Rice Village. His first customer was IBM, who he was refurbishing typewriters with its classic wrinkle paint finish. Due to his growing list of customers, the business moved to its current location in 1954 adjacent to a manufacturing company. In 1958 the business expanded when Bill bought the vacant building when the manufacturing business moved. The company continued to expand in the 1960’s and 1970’s with the most recent development consisting of a modern shipping and receiving warehouse.Industrial metal finishing services for the OEM, petrochemical, oil and gas, aviation, aeronautical, military, machine shop and fabrication shop markets.
