The ILUNION Recycled project began to take shape in 2006, but it was not until 2009 when it became a reality with our plant in La Bañeza. The creation of a waste manager specializing in WEEE represents the ONCE Social Group's commitment to a sustainable economy, not only in terms of personnel, but also in environmental terms.

A commitment that is further reinforced in 2020 with the incorporation of a new WEEE recycling plant in Campo Real (Madrid). It is a pioneering industrial facility in Spain, since it began its journey in 2004, even before the publication of the first Royal Decree that regulated the WEEE sector.

At ILUNION we believe that it is as important to create opportunities for people with disabilities as it is to leave a better world for future generations. And in these two treatment plants both objectives come together.

At ILUNION Reciclados La Bañeza we have been able to generate quality employment for people with disabilities in an eminently rural nucleus with few job opportunities, with the added complexity that this entails. In 2009 we started operating with 10 workers and today we are already more than 65 people, of which 90% have some type of disability. At ILUNION Reciclados Campo Real there are currently 25 people employed in the rural area where the facility is located.

On the other hand, we invest our efforts in the business that we are dedicated to. Our plants were created to provide a solution to the need to adequately manage the hazardous waste contained in the electrical and electronic devices that we use daily when they have finished their function and we dispose of them. In addition, we managed to reintroduce the decontaminated and treated materials resulting from our process to the market so that they can be used again as raw materials for the creation of new equipment.

It is, therefore, a project of great social, environmental and economic interest which, located in La Bañeza (León) and Campo Real (Madrid), promotes the productive and economic development of the regions and in turn makes ILUNION a a national benchmark as a waste manager.
