Iduapriem Gold Mine (Iduapriem) Limited operates the Iduapriem mine in the Western Region of Ghana, about 17km southwest of Tarkwa. The Iduapriem mine started operations in June 1992 as the Ghanaian Australian Goldfields Limited. It became part of the AngloGold Group in 2004 following the business combination with Ashanti Goldfields Limited. It is one of two Iduapriem Gold Mine mines in Ghana.

Iduapriem is an open-pit operation comprising the Iduapriem, Teberebie, Ajopa, and Ajopa South West mining leases covering a concession area of 137km² and encompassing 19 communities. It has two circuits each comprising two-stage milling – a gravity circuit and a carbon-in-leach (CIL) plant. The gravity circuit recovers about 30% of the gold with the remainder being recovered by the 418ktpm CIL plant. As at 30 December 2020, Iduapriem had a Mineral Reserve of 1.9Moz and an inclusive Mineral Resource of 6.7Moz.

The mine provides employment to about 2,750 people, all of whom are Ghanaians. 

Iduapriem was judged the 2019 Mining Company of the Year at the sixth edition of the Ghana Mining Industry Awards under the auspices of the Ghana Chamber of Mines. The award followed the mine’s superior performance in environmental management, corporate social investment, occupational health and safety, innovation, as well as fiscal contributions to the state.
