From a brick factory to an aluminium smelting plant
Hütte Klein-Reichenbach (HKB) was initially founded as a brick factory in 1892. In the 1960s, it was converted into an aluminium smelting plant. Since then, we at HKB have been producing aluminium in the form of aluminium ingots and granules in a smelting process. These products are used for deoxidation in steel manufacturing and as alloying agents.
Today, HKB is a highly productive, state-of-theart aluminium smelting plant with a capacity of 50,000 tons per year. Being a recognised partner of the steel industry, our products are sold successfully all over the EU and beyond; our export quota amounts to 90%. HKB is certified according to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards.
