Htec Systems, Inc., formed in the summer of 2004, is an offshoot of Hayden Environmental Group, Inc. (HEG) and QEI Engineers, Inc. (QEI). HEG has transferred the environmental control systems business, consisting of water and wastewater treatment, storm water, industrial air pollution control and hazardous chemical storage to the new company, whereas QEI transferred energy, facilities and manufacturing business. Key personnel from both companies were transferred to Htec Systems and office space was provided.
Htec Systems, Inc. was formed to pursue the design and construction of industrial processes associated with industrial operations, excluding civil works and large buildings.Targeted projects include environmental pollution control, water conservation, wastewater treatment, energy saving programs, air pollution treatment, ventilation, control systems and manufacturing.
Htec Systems, Inc. was organized around a lean management approach and to take advantage of 21st technologies for engineering design, communications and project management.
Htec Systems, Inc. was formed by three engineers, with a diverse combined experience of over 70 years, thus providing a multidisciplinary approach to the design and construction of industrial processes.
Phillip L. Hayden, Ph.D., P.E., CI Phillip has a BA degree in Chemistry from the University of Wichita, a M.S. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from The Ohio State University. He is a Professional Engineer, registered in Ohio and New York, a Diplomate of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and a LEED Certified Professional. He is the founder of Hayden Environmental Group and Hayden Safety Engineers, and is a partner in QEI Engineers, a mechanical, chemical and electrical engineering design firm. He has over 40 years of broad environmental, health & safety engineering experience. He has served as project manager for over 30 worldwide project constructing water and wastewater treatment systems Asia, South America, Eastern Europe and Russia. He served as Program Manager for a project to install pH Control Systems for a major soft drink company in 20 of their bottling plant, all within a schedule of 18 months. He has a very broad range of EHS experience including compliance with EPA and OSHA regulations. Dr. Hayden serves as Chairman and CEO of Htec Systems.
Christopher S. Hayden, P.E. Christopher has a BSEE degree from The Ohio State University and is a registered professional engineer in the State of Ohio. He has 15 years of project management and electrical/controls design experience. He has served as project manager for the design and construction of water and wastewater treatment plants in Brazil, Argentina, Poland and Russia. He is expert in the design of HMI (Wonderware, Siems and Rockwell) systems controlling water, wastewater, air pollution control and CIP systems. Christopher is Secretary-Treasurer of Htec Systems.
Peter A. Flaherty, P.E. Peter has BSChE and MSChE degrees in Chemical Engineering from Vanderbilt University and the University of Cincinati. He is a registered professional engineer in the States of Ohio and North Carolina, and has 20 years of engineering design experience of manufacturing, environmental and energy systems for a wide range of industrial plants, including pharmaceutical, chemical processing, auto parts, cement, plastics, food and beverage. Mr. Flaherty serves as a Regional Manager serving the Southeast U.S. and is located in New Bern, North Carolina.
System integration is an engineered system that brings critical processes together and provides critical information to the user – from the PLC on the factory floor to a manager’s office, and even to distant locations. At the touch of a fingertip, the status of manufacturing lines, critical utilities, regulatory systems or any other important industrial facilities system, can be displayed to the right people at the right time 24/7. Using off-the-shelf software instead of proprietary software can save time and money plus there will always be trained control engineers to reprogram or update if necessary.
Htec Systems (Htec) consists of a multi-disciplinary group of professional systems control engineers with chemical, mechanical, electrical, environmental, health & safety backgrounds and considerable experience with industrial processes and systems. As a result, you do not have to explain to Htec how industrial processes and systems function. We are able to quickly and efficiently establish process system logic on how to monitor and/or to control critical systems, followed promptly with the required ladder-logic and HMI programming.
An installed engineered control system will achieve the following benefits:
Reduce operational complexity
Reduce costs
Improve human resource utilization
Improve flexibility
Improve Quality and Service
Standardize operational processes
Ensure regulatory compliance
