Back home from Germany, like so many Italians in those years, Eng. Fortunato De Luca founded the "Fortuna Tooling" in 1978, a small mechanical workshop in the Teramo area, specializing in the production of industrial molds.

After a decade of activity and established itself in the territory, the company changes its name, becoming Europa Acciai SRL, and with the name also changes the core business of the company: it gradually passes from the production of industrial molds to the sale of metals and plastics made to measure for industrial realities in Abruzzo.

Thanks to the experiences acquired over the years by Eng. De Luca, Europa Acciai distinguished itself for the service offered to customers: sale of customized industrial semi-finished materials within 48 hours (eliminating the customer the costs of inventories and the complexities of purchasing scheduled material) as well as a service customer assistance that guides him in choosing the most correct material for the realization of a specific project.

Seeing that the service was appreciated by hobbyists and small local artisans, as well as by companies in the sector, Eng. De Luca developed an e-commerce portal, “Hobbymetal” in 2012, in order to meet the needs of customers who came from all over Italy.

After almost 10 years of experience acquired in the online sale of industrial semi-finished products, in 2021 the e-commerce business was split from Europa Acciai, becoming HMP - Hobby Metals & Plastics, the new and improved e-commerce portal for the purchase of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and plastics.
