Established in 1997, Hesstech, LLC has considerable industry expertise and is recognized as a leader in developing new technologies and setting industry standards. Following his employment with New Jersey's Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP), Founder and President David Zimet, worked for a private company contracted with the NJDEP, and managed site selection and development of the State's first approved, government-funded, ongoing residential electronics collection program and demanufacturing facility. This program was the first of its kind in the United States. Known as the "Union County Demanufacturing Program," the NJDEP project unveiled key issues surrounding the improper disposal of electronic equipment and exposed a rising need for environmentally sound disposal services in the commercial sector. In response to this need, upon completion of his service with the Union County Project, Mr. Zimet established Hesstech in 1997 to serve the public and private sector with the following goals in mind:
For more than 10 years, Hesstech has provided successful electronics resale/recycling/ inventorying service options. These services range from being the primary contractor managing the removal, logistics, resale, and recycling for a large public merger/acquisition including over 900 laboratories and thousands of offices, to handling single item pack and ship services for a national sales force.
Most organizations in the asset retirement and recycling industry look to achieve what Hesstech has developed in process efficiency, accountability, and cost control. The STAR SystemSM, Hesstech's proprietary business intelligence system, is under review by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Hesstech hopes to soon provide others with the tools needed to verify and document that services are performed in accordance with the highest industry standards and address social and environmental issues on a global scale.
What Makes Hesstech Unique?
Simply put…Transparency of service, technical capability, and business ethics make Hesstech unique. Unfortunately the electronics recycling industry is plagued with fraud. Scanning the Internet you are led to believe there are many organizations that offer similar services for end-of-life electronics. Without federal guidelines that set standards for processors, the disparity between service definitions is very wide in scope. Recycling to one firm may mean collect and export to the highest bidder. To another it means to remove hazardous components and send the scrap for recovery by audited facilities that operate in an environmentally sound manner. Until there is a shift in business practices or legislation, Hesstech will be among the very few companies that can provide a true and accurate audit trail for all materials processed. Hesstech handles a wide range of computer/IT and laboratory/medical equipment and operates as a single source solution for all asset retirement services. Hesstech has a reputation as having a unique blend of creative resources, and can competently fulfill a wide range of requests ranging from de-install, transport, redeploy, resell, and/or recycling both IT and laboratory equipment.
The STAR SystemSM, internally developed by Hesstech, is under review by the U.S. Patent and Trademarks Office, and supports a powerful set of web-hosted reporting tools and flexible options to capture data at minimal costs. The combination of experience, proven reliability, proprietary business tools and other special services makes Hesstech a unique leader in the electronics recycling and asset disposition industry.
