Herborn GmbH is a medium-sized family company with headquarters in Ginsheim-Gustavsburg, Germany and is run in the second generation by Thomas Herborn (in the management since 1996) and Frank Herborn (responsible for mechanical engineering).
Since 1985 Herborn GmbH has been developing and manufacturing mobile and stationary plant systems for the environmentally friendly recycling of discharge lamps containing pollutants and other waste containing mercury ("herborn system"). Today we offer our customers the “New Generation”, the fifth fundamental further development of our systems.
Since the company was founded by Dipl. Ing. Paul Herborn in 1985 at the first company location in Schlangenbad and the development of the first generation of systems "system herborn" for the recycling of fluorescent lamps (1985 - 1988), the technology has been continuously developed up to today's "New Generation" adapted to market and customer requirements.
In 1989 Herborn GmbH introduced the first mobile recycling systems to the European market and since then, as a specialist in this field, has exclusively developed and manufactured systems for the recycling of discharge lamps, LEDs, back-light units from flat screens and supplies and advises customers worldwide with this technology in the implementation of the country-specific requirements for the return of lamps.
