Our Beginnings

Hemmelgarn Services has been in operation since 1986. In its beginnings, James Hemmelgarn provided roll off services to help out friends as a hobby. What started out as a part-time occupation for James has turned into a full time business with a dozen employees and eight trucks. Although it has grown, Hemmelgarn Services has remained a family owned and operated business. James and Teresa still head the company and work hard to maintain personal contact and relationships with customers. We now focus a lot of our attention on recycling efforts to help maintain a healthy environment. James has a long history of working with environmental and recycling agencies. He worked for numerous years at both Ohio Rural Water Association and as a coordinator for the Shelby County Recycling Center. He has brought his knowledge and expertise in these areas to Hemmelgarn Services.

Hemmelgarn Services has grown quickly, specializing in container services for construction and demolition companies. Our sister company, Taylorsville Road Hardfill, is a C&D Hardfill located in the Dayton area which allows Hemmelgarn Services to provide the same quick and reliable service that has always been offered in the past, along with the opportunity for additional recycling of construction and demolition materials.

Hemmelgarn Services has always been a strong contributing member of the local community through time, services, and financial support of community activities and humanitarian efforts. In addition, Hemmelgarn Services and Taylorsville Road Hardfill continue to be strong supporters of youth sports and youth activities in our local communities.
