Harry Merrill & Son, Inc., Jewelers was founded in 1954 by Harry Merrill, a prominent sports columnist in the Philadelphia area. Harry started the business with his son Steve and his daughter Iris. The store has been family owned and operated since then, and we are now into the third generation of the Merrill family. We provide an intimate and relaxed atmosphere where you can select and design your personal treasures and keepsakes.

Iris Merrill Schwartz has been a part of Harry Merrill & Son since her father opened the business in 1954. Today, Iris brings decades of experience and her unique eye for jewelry to the business.

Stanley Schwartz, Iris’s husband, is the innovative and driving force behind our website, www.hmerrill.com. Stan recognized the need for an e-commerce site over a decade ago and has helped Harry Merrill & Son flourish as both an internet retailer and a brick-and-mortar store.

Robert Schwartz is Harry Merrill’s grandson and represents the third generation of the family. Robert is GIA certified and well versed in diamonds, gemstones, and jewelry design. He specializes in custom jewelry design and redesign using our proprietary computer design technology
