Chuck Hales—founder of another MN-based machine tool distributorship—and his son, Dan, opened Hales Machine Tool, Inc. in 1983. Tim joined the firm in 1984, Randy joined in 1989, and Julie in 1993. In 1990 the company moved to a 13,100 sq. ft. facility in Plymouth, MN, and now employs 21 highly-trained sales, service and support personnel. In 2008, Dan (President), Tim (V.P.) and Randy (Sales Mgr.) Hales bought out Chuck, and now own and manage the family business. ​ We have 7 Field Technicians, 2 In-House Technicians and 2 Application Engineers on staff to answer programming or technical questions. Hales Machine Tool Customer Service Team is here to handle all of your warranty and non-warranty service needs with our fully-equipped Service Department. Our Service Manager is ready to take your call and assist you in resolving your machine problems over the phone, or dispatch one of our 11 Field Service Techs/Engineers to your site. Our Applications Specialists are available by phone or for onsite visits to support you in your training and programming needs. For Parts, we have two people on staff to assist you. ​ Our Service Department performs on-site installations, mechanical, electrical and CNC control service. In addition to our own expertise, Hales has a strong relationship with our machine manufacturers and control builders who will assist our engineers to better serve you. ​ We also have two of the finest application engineers on staff to support you with your programming questions and to train your employees to program and operate your new machines.
