History

Groenleer Metaalrecycling BV was founded in 1938 by Leen Groenleer. He starts in the old town of Zierikzee in a small shed with a starting capital of 16 guilders. He collected metals and rags with a transport bicycle. During the war years, the Groenleer family was forced to move to Colijnsplaat. After the war years, the company was continued in the building in Zierikzee. No longer with the transport bike, but with a horse and cart. Cor Groenleer joined the company in 1978. Leen Groenleer died in 1984 and Cor continues the company alone.

In 1991 Groenleer moved to its current location in Zierikzee. Cor bought an existing warehouse in Limburg that was being built in Zierikzee. The company is growing steadily and has become a permanent concept on Schouwen-Duiveland and far beyond. In 2002, Cor decided to sell the company for lack of follow-up. In mid-2013 Marco Sinke takes over Groenleer Metaalrecycling BV. Marco Sinke has extensive experience in the industry from MSK Metaalhandel from Kruiningen.
