WHAT IS GRHUSA

GRHUSA is a public limited company created by the Consorcio Agrupación Nº 1 Huesca to manage Urban Waste in the territory of the Alto Gállego, Hoya de Huesca / Plana de Uesca and Jacetania regions.

COLLECTION AND TRANSPORTATION ACTIVITIES

The collection of Urban Waste consists in that, periodically, the collection teams go through all the towns and nuclei of the three Comarcas to empty the containers in the collection-compactor trucks, which transport the Waste to the Landfill or to Transfer Stations.

As not all Urban Waste can be thrown into a container, the collection of Bulky Waste and Household goods (electrical appliances, old furniture, mattresses, etc.) is carried out separately, prior notice to the collection services.

The collection involves a series of maintenance work, such as washing containers and trucks, repairs, replacements, distribution or removal of containers to adapt the service to the needs of the population, etc.

What does GRHUSA do in relation to these Activities?

On behalf of the Consortium, GRHUSA manages the collection of the rest fraction (green open-top containers) in the Hoya de Huesca Region, including the Municipality of Huesca, in the Alto Gállego Region, and in the Jaca municipality. .

GRHUSA also manages the separate collection of paper-cardboard and light packaging fractions in the territorial scope of the three Comarcas.

In addition to periodically collecting the containers, GRHUSA also collects bulky waste, repairs and replaces containers, and transports the waste to the Agrupación's landfill.

Since 2005, a collection system has been implemented by means of superior bilateral loading equipment, which is the first on a large scale to operate in Spain and is serving as a benchmark for many other local entities in our country. This system has been implemented for all the Alto Gállego containers and allows trucks with only the driver to automatically collect all types of containers, including those buried on both sides of the truck.
