​​Resource efficiency is the proven concept that by using your resources more efficiently, you reduce ‘wasted’ resources, and benefit the most from the materials, energy and services you purchase as inputs to your organisation.
Waste management looks at improving how waste is managed both on and off site, such as improving your recycling rates. These are often low cost or no cost measures at the lower end of the waste hierarchy.

Green Planet can provide a wide range of waste management services. These can cover waste practices and compliance issues and lead to a comprehensive report and recommendations to minimise cost, maximise recycling, reuse and minimise waste generation in order to achieve
‘ZERO WASTE’. During a waste audit, the auditor investigates the sources, composition, weight, volume, and destinations of the waste that your business generates. By learning more about the trash your business generates, you can be better informed about the products you buy that contribute to waste and be better prepared to more efficiently dispose of it, saving money and improving your company’s environmental performance.

GREEN PLANET TOWARDS TO ZERO WASTE STANDARD

Conduct assessment according to the required criteria – the criteria has been developed according to the Environmental Management System and Energy management standards. Company should score over 65% in order to receive recognition ‘Towards Zero Waste ‘. This programme is over a 5 year period. The main aim of this recognition is to result in all resources involved in the process to end in a closed loop disposal system.

SUPPORTING ACTIVITIES / WASTE MANAGEMENT TRAINING

A waste and waste reduction workplace cannot be successfully developed and implemented without support activities, such as staff education and promotion, motivation and training. Therefore, Green Planet conducts competence development training programmes. Training is consisting of 4 modules which include waste mapping, implementation of waste management systems according to the organisation requirements. This training has been developed towards recognition of waste management principles with a final goal to achieve zero waste.
