Green Magnet works to stay one step ahead of our competition and offer our clients solutions to business issues before they become problems. In line with this, we have developed an IT collection and recycling service to help companies ensure that they comply with the Government’s WEEE Directive (The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive).
The WEEE Directive came into effect in 2006 and requires all businesses which use electrical and electronic equipment to comply with the regulations therein.
The primary aim of the Directive is to minimise the impact of electrical and electronic goods on the environment by increasing re-use and recycling of obsolete or unwanted IT equipment, and by reducing the amount of WEEE going to landfill.
At a practical level, this means that businesses must now store, collect, treat, recycle and dispose of WEEE separately from other waste. Furthermore, all companies must obtain and keep proof that their electrical and electronic waste has been treated and disposed of in an environmentally sound way.
Green Magnet has been assisting clients to comply with the WEEE Directive since 2005. We recognise that each recycling and re-use project is unique and therefore requires a customer and project specific solution. Please contact us to discuss your collection and recycling needs.
