HISTORY

David Golper is third generation, started by his grandfather 90 years ago here in Appleton, the heart of "Paper Country".

We have been serving employer's, paper mills and residents all this time.

Leo Golper (2nd generation) really put Golper Supply on the map. He was a pioneer in the Paper Industry and a real legend that had a keen sense of what the Paper Mills were doing, he had passion for the makeup of paper, how it was derived and how the mills could use it. His enthusiasm and passion for the Paper Industry and the people it served was incredible

The company started out handling paper and metal. Sorting and baling paper, along with a metal scarp yard recycling iron, steel, copper, brass, aluminum and batteries. A couple of "old" stories include sorting Tab cards (which was input for the old mainframe computers) and on the metal side the battery acid got the best of several pair of pants. Golper Supply would take in metal from companies and individuals. We had a large scale and a few straight trucks. Also in the Nostalgia days we did paper drives.

Today, our customers are primarily businesses (some individuals) and we handle all sorts of paper, cardboard boxes, color paper, computer print out, chipboard, office waste, rolls, newspaper, high grades (like hard whites, soft whites, ledger paper) and coated paper.

We also handle scrap metal and outdated machinery ready for scrap, plastics and baling wire.

Some of the main cities we serve here in Wisconsin include: Appleton, Green Bay, Oshkosh, Fond du lac, Shawano, Oconto Falls, Waupaca, North Milwaukee, Sturgeon Bay and Beaver Dam.

Golper Supply is well known after being in business here in Appleton for 90 years, and helping customers meet and exceed their goals. We have been recycling before recycling was popular.

Last fall (2012) we had a major upgrade to our baling operations. New parts were installed to improve our baling, improve our product and better serve our customers
