GM Polystyrene was formerly known as South Wales Polystyrene (SWP). SWP was formed in 1989 and, for 18 years, was one of the leading providers of expanded polystyrene products across the UK.
Initially located in South Wales, the acquisition of Devon-based Westward Polystyrene in 1998 further consolidated the company’s position as a market leader with nationwide coverage.
In 2007, a management buy out saw one of the two directors of SWP leaving to pursue other interests. The remaining director, Graham Middleton, decided that, with his vision for the future of the company, the time was right for a complete overhaul of the company’s brand and identity, hence the birth of GM Polystyrene.
GM Polystyrene’s core business is as a converter of expanded polystyrene into a variety of packaging solutions. In addition, the company also offers the following:
This enables us to provide our customers with a full, flexible, bespoke solution to their individual packaging requirements.
In addition, the company has consistently invested in state-of-the-art tooling and machinery to ensure we have the means at our disposal to satisfy the requirements of our clients, no matter how technically challenging the design.
This is because whatever you, as a client, need from us, providing exemplary customer service to deliver total customer satisfaction is at the very heart of our service offering.
