Giacometto Transport AG

The name Giacometto has stood for quality for over 100 years!

Already in 1917 the company was founded by Giorgio Giacometto. Over the past 80 years, business has continuously adapted to market requirements. In the first few years the company was still building houses, but at the end of the 1930s it decided to give up this area and focus on the transport sector. This has been steadily expanded and mechanized over the decades.

In 1987 , the company set a milestone by entering the roll container trough service with the procurement of the first hook-on truck. This new area was quickly and gratefully taken up by existing as well as more and more new customers.

The constant successful expansion of this segment was followed by the establishment of the branch in Attiswil in April 1997 , which in turn enabled the company to set new standards. Today, most of the transport company's orders are carried out from this location.

With the acquisition of the first mobile crushing plant in 2004 , the company made a successful entry into mobile processing technology.

In 2008 , the increasing demand led to the company making the decision to separate the two business areas. The previous company Giacometto Steinbruch und Transporte was split into two legally independent companies: Giacometto Transport AG and Giacometto Steinbruch GmbH .

After a structural expansion of the warehouse in Attiswil in 2010 , a new stone warehouse for Jura and granite stone blocks was opened.

As a result of the succession plan for Bruno Giacometto, the founder's grandson, Beat Vogel took over all the shares in both companies after his retirement in mid- 2017 . Matthias Weyeneth (managing director) and Marco Pilloud (co-managing director) have been running the two companies together since 2018
